Dear Amy,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to interview you. I learned so much about you and from you. 

Even though we only had a couple of hours to get to know each other, you were truly inspiring and motivating. 

Your stories served as a lens for me to see the education and the lifestyle in Europe, specifically the Czech Republic. 

During our conversation, you told me that college classes in Taiwan were mostly lecture based while classes in Czech were a mixture of lectures, seminars, and activities.

There were more interactions between the professors and the students there compared to Taiwan. 

In the Luxury Marketing class you mentioned,I thought it was pretty cool that your professor brought in presentations from actual employees to share what these employees do and what tactics and methods are applicable within luxury marketing.

Not only did it provide a different perspective for the students, it also made the class more interesting. 

As a college student, I knew how important it was to have variety of teaching methods to present course material (lectures get extremely boring…I understand…). 

You also mentioned that tests were different as well. 

You took more multiple choice tests during your studies in Taiwan and more short answers tests in Czech (I guess Czech professors want to fail their students more, just kidding haha!). 

And because of that, you struggled in the beginning. Nevertheless, I’m glad you were able to pull through in the end because I knew you were too smart to fail.

謝謝你給我這個機會採訪妳，于庭。我從你身上學到了不少，也讓我更了解妳。

即使我們只有短短的幾個小時能了解對方，妳鼓舞和激勵了我。

透過了妳的故事，讓我 看到了歐洲的教育及生活方式，特別是捷克。

在交談中，你告訴我:在台灣的大學大多以老'師授課為主。而在捷克，課程會以研討會或活動進行。

相較於台灣之下，那邊的學生與教授的互動更為頻繁。

妳所提到的精品市場課程，教授居然帶了精品店的員工分享他們的工作內容及職責；甚至告訴你們在精品行銷的戰術及方法。

我認為這是很特別的授課方式，他不僅提供了學生一個不同的視野，這也讓原本無聊的課程變得生動有趣。

身為一名大學生，我知道如多元的教學方法及教材有多麼重要的（演講真的非常無聊......我明白了...）。

妳還提到，考試方式是截然不同的。在台灣考試多為選擇題，而在捷克大多是問答題。

（只是開個玩笑，我猜捷克教授想多當他們的學生，哈哈！）。正因為如此，妳從一開就很苦惱。然而，我很高興你能轉危為安，因為我知道你是太聰明了使得妳不會失敗。

You said that during your time at Czech, you missed Taiwanese food the most. You said the food in Czech was too salty and too sweet and you didn’t have a lot to choose from.

It wasn’t healthy either because there weren’t a lot of vegetables added to their meals (To those who want to study in Czech, eat lots of Taiwanese food before you go!).

However, there were some things about Czech that you felt were amazing. For example, the architecture and history of Czech really stood out to you. 

The really cheap musical performances that you loved going to were definitely worth experiencing too. 

One interesting thing you told me about Czech was that the people there were very affectionate.

I mean, I didn’t think it was an everyday thing that you could find people having sex in the park. 

What a big difference between Czech and Taiwan!

妳說到在捷克的時候，妳最想念台灣的佳餚。捷克的食物對你而言不是太鹹就是太甜，而且並沒有太多選擇。

餐點中沒有大量的蔬菜，這是不健康的。（所以給那些要去捷克唸書的朋友建議，在台灣 吃遍美食再去捷克）

然而，妳在捷克發現許多美妙的事情。例如:捷克的建築物和歷史令你驚豔。還有那些物超所值的音樂會真的讓妳值回票價。

你告訴我一個有趣的事情，在捷克，那裡的人都非常開放。我的意思是，我不認為你會在日常生活中發現在公園有人在親熱。捷克與台灣真的有極大的區別。

I can’t wait to challenge myself and learn as well. 

Your stories really inspired me to take the next step and go out to the world.

Studying abroad was always a dream to me, but the excitement you had when you shared your story gave me the determination to take the initiative to make it happen. 

Best of luck your next semester in England (I would love to meet up with you in Europe next year!). 

For your future career, you told me you wanted to work for a foreign company somewhere in Asia (sounds really cool!). 

You have an exciting life ahead of you and I can’t wait to see the amazing things you will accomplish.

我迫不及待地想挑戰自己還有學習。你的故事真的激發了讓我更近了一步，出走到世界各地。

對我而言，出國留學一直是個夢想。但是當你分享你的故事，妳讓我找回去實踐它的決心。

祝妳下學期在英國讀書順利。（明年，我很樂意在歐洲與妳相見!）

對於你未來的職業生涯，你告訴我你想在亞洲的外商公司上班（聽起來真的很棒！）。

你有一個精彩的人生，我迫不及待地想看到妳完成令人驚奇的事情。
